Above all we achieve positive outcomes for young people. Advocacy is available to all young people whom we are supporting to move into independence. Our properties are modern and welcoming houses. The areas have a wealth of facilities, including Libraries, sports centres, parks and swimming pools. We actively encourage young people to use local services and this includes exploring employment or volunteering opportunities.
Our properties have been decorated to a very high standard and provide the perfect atmosphere for young people and staff to work together towards positive outcomes. The living areas have a flat screen TV and games console. There are a variety books available and young people are encouraged to read and develop ideas. We support young people to develop skills which will help them find employment.
Each young person has their own room with Wi-Fi included. We encourage personalisation and all young people are welcome to bring their belongings to allow them to feel "at home" as soon as possible. It is their home until they are ready to move on to independence and we want them to feel included as well as supported.
Safety checks are carried out regularly, ensuring smoke alarms, fire extinguishers and blankets are available and operational.
Security is paramount and there are external CCTV cameras to ensure all areas outside are monitored. There are alarms on all external doors and windows.
Our operating policies and procedures are comprehensive and ensure all young people and staff as well as any visitors are safe at all times. It is ensured all staff and young people are aware of all policies.
Our staff are familiar with the areas and surroundings and bring with them a wealth of local experience. Staff understand the issues faced by young people and have the necessary skills and experience to support young people achieve positive outcomes and move on to independence.
Regular training and supervision ensures staff are abreast of legislation and effective working practices to fully support young people learn new skills. All staff must undergo a full DBS check and provide at least two references before commencement of employment.
Our staff are critical to the positive outcomes of young people and we ensure they are rewarded for the hugely valuable work they undertake.
